Producing a single crossword puzzle takes just one mouse click (see Basics).
Multiple Puzzle Production
Usually more than one puzzle is required. For this there is the Multiple Puzzle Production. Click on and enter the desired number of Puzzles. That's about it.
Batch Production
If you need several crossword puzzles, based on different blueprints, Batch Production is very helpful. Simply mark the blueprints, select Batch Production and enter the number of required crossword puzzles. CWG does the rest.
Project Production
Projects are saved lists of blueprints, like the lists of Batch Productions. During a Project Production, the listed blueprints are used step by step for the single production of a crossword puzzle. Because of the various options available, Project Productions is very helpful when a lot of crossword puzzles, based on different blueprints, are required more than once; e.g. for a puzzle page of a newspaper or puzzle book.
Unique Worldwide - the Project Block
Naturally, a word is not found more than once in the same crossword puzzle. In addition to this, the blueprints have the option to block used words for up to 99 puzzles produced in a row. Puzzle books usually have several different types of puzzles, in different sizes and different shapes, based on different blueprints.
For crossword puzzle books CrossWordGenius has Project Block. This means if you select a Project Block of 25, used words are found only once in 25 puzzles produced in a row, but in this case it doesn't matter what blueprint is used for the production. In other words: the most "popular" word for Arrowwords "TEE" may come up in an arrowword on page 3, but not again in a Prize Crossword on page 4 and not in a Codebreaker on Page 5. Thanks to CrossWordGenius the boring repeated use of words in crossword puzzle books is a thing of the past!
Order Saves Time
During the puzzle production CWG always creates a directory with the name of the blueprint and an additional subdirectory named "Puzzles", where all puzzle files of the blueprint are saved. For Crossword Puzzle Books it makes sense to collect all files for the book in a single directory or on a central server. This is available in the Project Manager.
Another option is to create subdirectories. This makes sense when the user, for example, wants to produce all puzzles of 12 puzzle books with Project Production. Then CWG creates subdirectories and the files are saved in them. In the directories "Project 1", "Project 2", "Project 3" ... are all puzzles of Issue 223, 224, 225 ... saved. Order saves time.
Prize Puzzle Books
More and more puzzle books with competitions are being published. Usually the solutions of the puzzles are not random words, but linked to the sponsor. For this purpose an option is available to link a word list to the project. Whenever a prize word is needed, CWG uses the words in this list in the order they have been entered. In this way the production of all crossword puzzles for a prize puzzle book is just one mouse click away.
