ROQA is a very fast growing company in the world of print media. Therefore we have a constant need for employees on a freelance basis. As ROQA is almost 100 % web-based, a home computer and a permanent internet access are required for the vacancies or projects listed below.
Cartoonists and Illustrators (Freelance)
- You will have to produce Cartoons in several different styles (always in b/w outline and manually coloured). You can use one of the existing styles or develop your own; but keep in mind, that the cartoons are for the general public, i.e. they have to be politically correct without any reference to politics.
- At present we need three further Comic Strips, two for adults and one for children (age group 6 - 10). If you are interested in drawing comic strips, but have not developed your own plot line, you may send us examples of your cartoons, because we have several completely developed storylines for our own comic strips.
- Illustrators (for short love or crime stories)
ROQA is for some cartoonists the chance of a lifetime , because we immediately distribute all cartoons in several languages for a very low, and therefore, affordable price. International recognition is thus guaranteed. Please, send your example bitmaps or links to toons@roqa.co.uk. In order to avoid frustration; if you think, that you are already some kind of "Van Gogh", please don't waste your time and ours.
Translators (Freelance)
- The language of ROQA's newsrooms is English. Therefore we need Translators from colloquial English into almost every other language. If you have studied your native language at university or you are an experienced journalist and are interested in working with the ROQA newsrooms, please send your c.v. to bod-secretary@roqa.co.uk. English language teachers working in their home countries may also apply.
Authors (Freelance)
- We also need Authors of short stories (love or crime). The length of the texts should not exceed 1/2 page tabloid. If you are a gifted amateur story-teller and writer (Have a go! That's how Hemingway got started), send one or two examples of your work to newsroom@roqa.co.uk.
